The new 2024 8 Series comes with a choice of two overachieving and smooth-riding engine configurations. Under the hood of the base 840i trim levels, you will find a turbocharged six-cylinder powertrain that pumps 335 horsepower and 368 pounds of torque. These models feature an eight-speed automatic transmission and either rear- or all-wheel drive. The second available engine is a twin-turbo V-8, which powers the M850i models with an impressive 523 horsepower and 553 pounds of torque.
In terms of fuel economy, 840i models equipped with the base six-cylinder engine offer EPA estimates of 21 miles per gallon in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. The more powerful M850i trim levels, on the other hand, deliver 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

All trim levels of the 2024 8 Series are equipped with plenty of luxurious features and all the comfort you would expect from a premium grand tourer.
