BMW Servicing

You know you need regular oil changes and tire rotations but you may not realize the benefits of a differential service from your BMW dealership.

4 Reasons to Get Differential Service at Your BMW Dealership

Keep Your BMW on the Road

The location and number of your BMW’s differential depends on whether you drive a front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, or all-wheel drive. With both front and rear-wheel drives, your vehicle has a single differential that must be maintained. With all-wheel drive, there are two differentials. The differential evenly distributes power to your wheels and maintains wheel speed when you turn right or left.

The differential fluid, sometimes known as gear oil, lubricates the different parts of your differential. This fluid is flushed out and replaced during service. When the fluid runs low, this can lead to a grinding noise. Routine service on the differential should be completed around 60,000 to 90,000 miles. This helps your BMW turn properly and prevents damage to the seals, gaskets, or plugs.

BMW combines luxury and elegance with electric innovation and power to create the 2024 BMW iX. This fully electric SUV is available in two trim levels, each offering something slightly different to satisfy every driver. We look at the xDrive50 and the M60 to help you select the iX model that’s right for you.

Trim Levels of the 2024 BMW iX

1. xDrive50

The xDrive50 is considered the base trim of the iX, but we think it’s anything but basic. Futuristic styling begins with its aerodynamic body and flush-fitted door handles and continues with 20-inch dark gray wheels and a striking kidney grille. BMW uses the front grille to hide sensors, cameras, and radar technology, and a rearview camera is integrated into the BMW badge.

With its bespoke illuminated kidney grille, aggressive LED headlights, chiseled hood, tapering roofline, 20-inch wheels, and quad exhaust pipes, the 2024 BMW X2 looks more like a giant sports car than a compact luxury SUV. And this is not another case of a car being all flash and no substance, the BMW X2 is truly remarkable. Read on to learn why you’re about to love it just as much as we do.

3 Ways the 2024 BMW X2 is a Cut Above the Rest

Drives Like a High-Performance Car

The 2024 X2 is an immensely capable vehicle that can only be described as a true driver’s car. For starters, under the hood is a vehement turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with a maximum power output of 312 ponies and 295 lb-ft that will have the X2 bounding from zero to 60 mph in just 5 seconds. There’s also a fuel-efficient variant with a slightly lower output of 241 HP but an excellent EPA-estimated fuel economy of up to 33 MPG on the highway.

Sometimes, the additional bulk that comes with being an SUV can compromise the driving dynamics of a vehicle, but the X2 defies the laws of physics with its sprightliness. The electric power steering is nicely weighted and provides lots of feedback for that nimble feel, the available adaptive dampers work with the independent four-wheel suspension to ensure supreme handling and ride comfort, and the all-wheel drive capability plus the 8.1-inch ground clearance ensure you can handle any terrain with ease.
