BMW combines luxury and elegance with electric innovation and power to create the 2024 BMW iX. This fully electric SUV is available in two trim levels, each offering something slightly different to satisfy every driver. We look at the xDrive50 and the M60 to help you select the iX model that’s right for you.
Trim Levels of the 2024 BMW iX
1. xDrive50
The xDrive50 is considered the base trim of the iX, but we think it’s anything but basic. Futuristic styling begins with its aerodynamic body and flush-fitted door handles and continues with 20-inch dark gray wheels and a striking kidney grille. BMW uses the front grille to hide sensors, cameras, and radar technology, and a rearview camera is integrated into the BMW badge.
Performance
Two electric motors power the xDrive50, delivering an exciting 516 horsepower and 564 pound-feet of torque, taking this SUV from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. The 111.5 kWh high-voltage battery pack charges to around 90 miles in just 10 minutes when DC fast charging. However, with a range of 305 to 311 miles, you can comfortably drive from Orange Park to Fort Lauderdale without needing to recharge.
Interior
Touch-sensitive surfaces, gold bronze trim accents, and an upholstered instrument panel adorn the interior. Driver comfort is heightened by the heated front seats and a heated hexagonal steering wheel, both of which are power-adjustable. Information is delivered through a 12.3-inch digital display, and the infotainment system consists of a large 14.9-inch central screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The xDrive50 is equipped with a standard navigation system, a wireless charge pad, and a 12-speaker audio system.
2. M60
BMW has built the M60 to deliver outstanding power and speed. The dual high-performance electric motors have an outstanding output of 610 horsepower and 749 pound-feet of torque, pushing the M60 from 0-60 in just 3.6 seconds. As a result, the M60’s range is slightly below that of the xDrive50, but still an impressive 296 miles.
Design Features
The M60 incorporates many of the standard features of the xDrive50 but swaps out certain aspects for more chic options. Again, the kidney grille dominates the exterior, but this time it’s paired with adaptive laser headlights and 21-inch aero bi-color wheels. Inside, the M sport steering wheel is leather-wrapped and rear passengers get to enjoy the same comfort as those in the front thanks to heated rear seats, armrests, and door panels.
BMW also gives the audio system an upgrade, installing a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System, so every occupant can listen to their favorite playlist in perfect clarity.
Whether you opt for the impressive xDrive50 or go all out with the powerful M60, you definitely won’t be disappointed. Head down to Tom Bush BMW Orange Park in Jacksonville, FL today, and check out the new iX models for yourself.
